A litle history. Since 2006 we started in Võsu in the North of Estonia the
Wind Music Festival together with the Vòsu Musicdays.
The idea was to bring Wind players, singers and together and as well young &
future wind band conductors.
The goal is to merge wind music and vocal repertoire as well original wind
band repertoire from estonia and the world as well as creating the
possibilities for musicians who are working in the wind band movement to
share ideas and take part in materclasses etc.
During the project musicians from all over Estonia, comes together,
sometimes individually or with a bigger group or their whole orchestra from
a certain city and play in the project orchestra. When orchestras come to
the festival, they can participate in the project orchestra and as well
perform their own program in the evening concerts.
The level from the musicians is mixed and start approx from grade 2 and up.
Teachers and guestconductors come from all over the world, f.i. in th e past
Endel Nõgene, Tarmo Leinatamm, Valdo Rüütelmaa from Estonia, Joop Boerstoel
(Netherlands) Yiang Hoon (Singapore), John Stanley (USA).
The week program starts on Wednesday and finishes at Sunday.
At different repertoire will be worked with different conductors, teachers
and students. In the meantime the gusteconductors coaches the students.
As well there are many guetorchestras every year. 2011 contained the
National Youth Fanfare Band from the Netherlands and the Latvian Youth Wind
Band.
For 2012 we have already the West Virginia University Wind Band (USA) and
Auletes Technical University Wind Band (Netherlands). The age of the
participants goes from 12 till 70 ,Youth orchestras are very welcome as
well.
Beside the orchestra concert there is a night concert where vocal and
instrumentalists could perform individually accompanied by their own pianist
or ours.
In 2012 we have place for a wind orchestra to participate in the project
orchestra and as well perform with their own orchestras.
Saturday evening 21st July is the galaconcert and a possibility to perform
for a Wind Orchestra

interested to participate and we appreciate if the Finnish Wind Band
